100 Years of Chevrolet

The Chevrolet Motor Car Company was founded on November 3, 1911.

Last year marked exactly one hundred years after the inception of the company.

European heritage

Chevrolet’s roots are actually firmly planted in Europe. The company’s joint founder, Louis Chevrolet was born in Switzerland, and for this reason the company has always held an intrinsically European flavour.

Today, of course, Chevrolet is one of the best known automotive brands in the world – the golden bow-tie still standing for the iconic design and the spirit of optimism that inspired Louis all those years ago.

Chevrolet engages in sporting, social, and cultural projects

Louis Chevrolet was an excellent racing driver, so today it is fitting that Chevrolet is not only involved in but dominates the WTCC (World Touring Car Championships)

Creativity was a strong driving force for the young Louis Chevrolet, so the brand today is involved in nurturing creative talent across Europe through the Young Creative Chevrolet (YCC) initiative.

And finally, in 2011 Chevrolet embarked on a partnership with SOS Children’s Villages, donating 100 new cars to this inspirational charity. The partnership is highly appropriate as its aim is to improve the mobility of disadvantaged children in Europe, South AfricaUzbekistan, Israel and Lesotho.
